Pros and cons of MARA3D Human Anatomy Lite app for iPhone and iPad
MARA3D Human Anatomy Lite app good for
Its good for art reference if you are practicing the different angle of human anatomy
When I downloaded this app, I expected to be able to pose the model. If this feature was introduced, Id buy both the male and female apps in a heartbeat.
I liked the fact that its clear and you can move the lighting and camera but sad that I can pose them how I want, its great if you are starting out though.
Some bad moments
This is pretty good.. Thanks! Helps me draw better for my future project.
However it would be cool to shift the body size and height.
Otherwise both of the models work just fine.
:)
I cant do any thing except turn the camera, change person, save it,and exit boo
The overall usefulness of this app remains to be seen for the 1st attempt by this developer. The interface is simple yet intuitive. The materials, lighting, and camera options are somewhat simplistic but still useful. To be really useful for artistic reference it needs a lot more.
However, the models are so stylistically rendered as to be ineffectual as reference. I dont know if the modeler was attempting to showcase his skills or make something useful to other artists. There is no mention as to whether the models are heroic, fashion or natural. Regardless, the proportions are so ridiculous They dont conform to either.
The necks on both the male and female model are ridiculously long. The arms, feet and wrists are too long and exaggerated on the male model. The waist, knees, and ankles are way too thin for the shoulder width of the male model. Couple that with ludicrous size of the gastrocnemius and you get a bizarre bottom-heavy figure.
Also, since the models include a muscle texture, I should point out that the artist got the muscles in the relatively correct position... according to their "stylistic" proportions. However, the 3D artist needs to work from both photo reference and anatomy guides. The muscle shapes are grotesquely wrong. He mixes up fusiform, bipennate, and unipennate striations.
Overall, I like the idea of this app, however, it still feels like a first attempt. Definitely not worth a purchase since other anatomy reference on the web address the majority of the pitfalls I mentioned.
Its simple and all but virtually useless. Not everyone draws or paints ripped men standing straight up I really was hoping I could pose the model anyway I like. Thats what killed it for me.
If you could get it to where we could pose them and shift height and weight that would be amazing! Youd deffinetly get five stars if you could do that. Its great jus for anatomy but otherwise not that great..
